American Goldfinch
After 24 hours of rain, we have a beautiful sunny day that will get cooler. The birds have been in puddles and feeding busily, including the American goldfinches in the star-thistle outside my window. They move a lot but I was able to catch this one before it flew off.

Thanks so much for these drawings. They remind me that I could be drawing, too.
Hello
I found your site through the OA’s
Currently staying in Oakland Ca, until July 2008. I enjoyed the link you gave once to a site in Gif/Yvette, which is near our usual home in France.
Do you do the count every year? I read about it in the local press. It sounds good. J-P, the husband, is very keen on birds, and I’ve caught the bug from him.I’m constantly amazed at the differences and similarities between birds in different locations around the world. I too enjoy the American Goldfinch.
