March of the Turkeys
They cut the alfalfa yesterday. I missed the flock of cattle egrets last night (hope they come back today!) but the turkeys were heading east in a great procession this morning, picking through the rows of mowed alfalfa.

i love this sketch, and just the concept of a procession of turkeys ‘making hay’ in the fresh-cut alfalfa. by the way, pica, i’m still reading the book – dragging it out to make it last, i think. i’ll be in touch when i’ve finished – getting closer all the time. love the idea of your monocular. i hope i’ll see it when we visit.
