I'm Pressed
I’ve been the newsletter editor of Yolo Audubon Society for what — five years? Six years? As of tonight, I’m President.
I no longer know what I’m doing. Instead of making sure nine issues get out per year, I have to answer questions about bird boxes as Habitat for Humanity projects. And show up to things. (I’m perennially late; this will be interesting.) It involves waffle.
The good news is, it’s only two years. The much better news is, the board is made up of wonderful, dedicated, energetic people. It’s going to be fine…

I for one welcome our new Yolo overlady.
Bird boxes are Habitat for Humanity projects? Would love to read more about that. The idea doesn’t sound like a waffle; more like a tart half-grapefruit.
Jarrett, you know as much as I do. But I did get a call precisely about this subject not two days ago.
Ron, thank you for your support. Now I have to be the one getting up with my wits together after a day of counting birds in driving rain and sound coherent, difficult at the best of times…
Congratulations! (to the YAS — they’ve scored big!)
Good luck. I’ve been actively avoiding a similar fate for years. I do one thing for our local Audubon chapter: line up speakers for the programs. That seems like enough.
Kudos! Yolo is in sound and creative hands! Not sure where in New Mexico you are going – but try to get to get up for the rosy finches, though I’m not sure they are still around.
